Who Are the Three Most Streamed Argentinians on Spotify?

Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped is on trend, and three Argentinians lead the playlists. Duki, María Becerra, and Bizarrap are the most streamed artists, and we will tell you about their music, history, and career in this note.

Comfortable trainers, a bag with your essentials, and earphones: all you need to set off to walk around Buenos Aires or get immersed in the landscapes the most southern country has for you. Taking steps to the rhythm of local music improves the tourist experience and tinges it with genres, melodies, voices, and musical instruments. National music goes deep inside Argentinians’ blood, reflecting unique energy and the talent ever ingrained in our territory. With this in mind, what artists can’t be left out of your Argentina’s travel playlist based on the 2021 trends? What will your list be in this year?

Last December, the last month of the year was the long-awaited Wrapped 2021 by Spotify, the Swedish media service company that allows you to listen to artists’ music from all over the globe. This summary, already installed in users’ minds to wrap up the year, tells which artists, songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts were the most streamed of the season. The Argentinians’ top three are consistent with the tendency that has been making a statement: urban music. Reggaeton, trap, and hip hop have fused to make room for a local music style that has been gaining ground in the national and international scenario. That’s why it is not surprising that the most streamed locals are true examples of this genre.

Duki —the Argentine Artist most Streamed in the World

This year, at the top of the podium, we found Duki —the most-streamed Argentinian in the world and our country. Also, his CD Desde el Fin del Mundo (From the End of the World) was the second most successful in the national territory. The freestyler started his music career in 2016 after winning El Quinto Escalón, a rap battle contest cradle to many Argentinian emerging artists. From that victory, his career was constantly on the rise: single releases, agreements with record labels, tours, records for plays, and musician collaborations. He was even nominated twice for the Latin Grammy in 2020, and his last CD and EP were in third place in Spotify’s Top 10 Global Album Debuts. As one of the pioneers in this distinctive rap subgenre, he has a marked trap style that places him at the top of the genre in our country.

María Becerra —the Promising Young Argentinian Artist

With just 21 years of age and a YouTuber past, María Becerra holds second place. In the second half of 2019, she released her first EP, with urban pop and hip-hop tracks. Everything else is history, and Becerra’s emerging career has taken off. She has collaborated with renowned singer-songwriters, was nominated for several awards, recorded her first CD in 2021, and even was one of the world’s 100 most influential Latin Americans according to the Latina Powerhouse Top 100 list, published by Hola! US.

Bizarrap —Artist, Creator of numerous Hits

Bizarrap is an Argentinian DJ and producer famous for its Bzrp Music Sessions and Bzrp Freestyle Sessions. He invites different musicians who sing live in them, and then he makes a remix with his songs. These sessions brought him fame and made his YouTube channel go great guns with the number of plays. Nominated for four Latin Grammys, he is a national and international success, and that’s why he holds the third position of the most-streamed Argentinians.
