Ezeiza will maintain operations and international connectivity during works on its main runway

13 August 2026

The vast majority of international flights bound for Argentina between October 25 and November 11 will continue to arrive normally at Ezeiza International Airport while scheduled renovation works on its main runway are carried out.

The main runway will operate at a reduced length for operational safety reasons during the 17 days of work. Nevertheless, the terminal will keep all its services, commercial shops, and passenger care fully operational.

This operational framework will allow narrow-body aircraft (responsible for domestic, South American, and Central American flights) to maintain their usual direct itineraries. Meanwhile, long-haul routes will maintain their arrivals at Ezeiza and will adapt only their departure legs through technical refueling stops or connections.

Aeropuertos Argentina stated that the renovation of the secondary runway will extend its useful life by 20 to 25 years, increase safety against wear, expand the margin to receive larger aircraft, and raise the airport's technological category for instrument operations.

The project was planned well in advance within the International Air Transport Association (IATA) calendar and coordinated with the aeronautical community to sustain the country's connectivity. These works are part of a comprehensive modernization plan that includes the new "Golf" apron for seven aircraft, repaving of taxiways, and new maintenance modules.

Passengers and travel agencies are advised to check specific itinerary details directly with each airline.
