Argentina eases entry for tourists from China and the Dominican Republic
The measure removes immigration requirements and costs for visitors holding a valid United States visa, encouraging the arrival of tourists to the country.
Argentina continues to promote inbound tourism with new measures that simplify the arrival of international travellers. From now on, citizens of China and the Dominican Republic who hold a valid visa to enter the United States will be able to enter the country without the need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (AVE) or pay consular fees.
The initiative aims to streamline immigration procedures and encourage the arrival of tourists by recognising reliable control systems, such as that of the United States. The decision is part of a broader strategy to position Argentina as a competitive and welcoming destination on the international stage.
Benefit for Those Holding a U.S. Visa
The measure applies exclusively to Chinese and Dominican citizens who hold any type of valid U.S. visa, regardless of its purpose. This will help reduce processing times and costs, making it easier for a traveller profile with high spending potential and longer average stays to enter the country.
Growth of Chinese Tourism in 2025
During the first half of 2025, the number of Chinese tourists arriving in Argentina increased by nearly 18% compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects the positive impact of recent facilitation policies and the rising interest from the Asian market in discovering Argentina’s landscapes, flavours, and experiences.
The country has the ideal resources and offerings to continue attracting this strategic market—from its natural diversity stretching from north to south, to the cultural, gastronomic, and wine-making richness that characterises each region.
Argentina reaffirms its commitment to accessible, efficient, and high-quality inbound tourism. These actions aim to position the country as a destination open to the world, ready to welcome those seeking unique experiences in every corner of its territory.
