How to get to Córdoba from Buenos Aires?

The fastest option is by plane. Flights of less than an hour and a half depart from Aeroparque (AEP) and Ezeiza (EZE) and land at Córdoba's Ingeniero Aeronáutico Ambrosio Taravella International Airport (COR).

To get from the airport to the city center, there is a special bus service, ride-hailing apps and taxis. The trip takes about half an hour, depending on traffic.

Where to stay in Córdoba?

It is advisable to book accommodation as far in advance as possible, as high occupancy levels are expected.

A good option is the central area around Plaza San Martín and the Archbishop's Palace, ideal for its proximity to the main stops on the tour.

What to eat in Córdoba?

Among the must-tries of Córdoba's cuisine are empanadas cordobesas, with their slightly sweet touch and potato filling; the traditional lomito, a giant beef tenderloin sandwich with egg, ham and salsa criolla; and classic locro criollo, a hearty traditional stew.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are alfajores cordobeses, filled with dulce de leche or quince jam, and colaciones, a traditional delicacy made with thin, crumbly wafers prepared with egg yolks and a touch of liquor or arrope (fruit syrup), filled with dulce de leche and covered with white icing.

What to keep in mind when traveling to Córdoba for the Pope's Mass?

On the occasion of the papal visit, Monday, November 9, will be a national holiday, and Tuesday, November 10, the day Leo XIV will be in Córdoba, will be a holiday in the province. For this reason, some venues may change their usual opening hours.

The celebration begins the night before. The Archdiocese of Córdoba has called for a vigil at the FAdeA grounds, where the Mass will take place: gates open on Monday, November 9, at 6 p.m., and from 10 p.m. there will be a gathering with prayer, music and entertainment. Organizers recommend bringing a sleeping bag and toiletries. Information on access conditions for the Mass is available from the Archdiocese of Córdoba.

In addition, that same day, at 3:15 p.m., Leo XIV will lead a meeting with bishops, priests, consecrated men and women and pastoral workers at the Cathedral, so it is a good idea to check whether there will be access restrictions in the area.
