Entre Ríos rivers, among which Paraná and Uruguay stand out, mark out the area of the province, and so, its name, which translates into ‘between rivers’. Also, the beaches —they reassure the idea that relaxing among chaos is everything we need to make our hearts throb. We are talking about the most thermal province in the country. Besides, it’s home to thousands of fish species, such as spotted catfish and dorados, allowing for an endless number of fishing spots and huge gastronomy. On the other hand, the water lines make all kinds of exciting activities possible.

1. Sport Fishing

We’ve already said it: Entre Ríos honours its name, and it’s surrounded by water. On the west, you’ll find the Paraná river from north to south. The Uruguay river watches out for the eastern borders. It’s crystal-clear that there are loads of water destinations, and for that, it stands on the podium when it comes to choosing fishing spots in Argentina. 

Which cities are open to tourists with rods and hooks? That depends on the river you want to visit. Along the Paraná river, the city of Victoria was declared a sport fishing official site, ideal for yellow catfish lovers. La Paz has Curuzú Chalí island, where the Dorado and Catfish Festivals are held annually, and national and international fishermen are welcomed. Also, Paraná, Gualeguay, and Santa Elena are perfect for those looking for dorados. 

The Uruguay river surrounds the cities of Federación, Concordia, Colón, and Concepción del Uruguay. They all hold the title for being the cradle of dorados, bogas, silversides, and catfishes. Actually, the world’s biggest dorados can be found here. You just have to pin on your map the Salto Grande dam in Concordia. Not only is it an engineering work of art with great viewpoints and guided tours, but also it has fishes that weigh 20 kilos.

2. Beach Days

Just as good as the open sea. Every year, the Entre Ríos riverbanks attract thousands of explorers looking for new water adventures. The white sand and infinite waters are enough to sweep travellers off their feet. Of course, there are more than enough alternatives for fearless tourists: kitesurfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, swimming, canoeing, and stand-up paddling are the most popular options. Mind you! If you are after calm, this place is also for you. It’s a classic spending a day under the sunlight surrounded by wonderful views that get better when golden hour hits and orange sunbeams start to fade away on the horizon. 

Again, the coastline is divided into two. On the one hand, the Paraná river. To the north, you’ll see postcard-like landscapes that are almost unspoilt and declared fishing sites, such as the Villa Urquiza, Hernandarias, Piedras Blancas, and Santa Elena beaches. Also, in the Paraná river namesake capital, you’ll find islands, cliffs, and coastlines. Coast resorts are waiting for you in the regions of Victoria, Valle María, Diamante, and La Paz. There are thousands of resorts around this region, and there are no wrong answers when it comes to choosing one because each portraits a magnificent scene worthy of a spot in a museum.

On the other hand, the Uruguay river. You’ll find the Chajarí and Federación coastlines which, apart from having white soil, are strategically close to natural hot springs of up to nine hectares. The city of Concordia is also nearby, with options such as Los Sauces, and Nébel beach, and the Salto Grande lake coast, with small beaches and tourist resorts perfect for connecting with this natural world.

Gualeguaychú (the vivid and energetic icon of the country’s most famous festival) accommodates the resort Ñandubaysal, which has room for camper vans, tents, or even wood rooms.
