Nestled in the vineyards of Agrelo, Lamadrid Estate Wines embodies the spirit of Malbec with a unique identity, blending the Cuban heritage of founder Guillermo García Lamadrid with organic and sustainable practices to produce vibrant, elegant wines.
Founded in 2004 by Guillermo García Lamadrid —who named the winery in honor of his mother Matilde— Lamadrid sits on three iconic estates in Agrelo: La Matilde (planted in 1929), Lamadrid (1973), and La Suiza (2004).
With a “wine is made in the vineyard” philosophy, the entire winemaking process —from chemical-free cultivation to fermentation with native yeasts and unfiltered bottling— reflects a deep commitment to terroir expression.
Lamadrid has earned recognition for excellence in varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, and Malbec, many of which have received scores above 90 points from critics like James Suckling, Vinous, and Wine Spectator, along with awards for value.
The estate offers tastings daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and features an on-site restaurant (Los Bocheros), guided tours, gastronomic experiences, and lodging options by reservation.

- Sommeliers Choice Awards 2020 – Matilde (Malbec 2013) received 97 points and a Double Gold Medal, standing out for its exceptional value. In addition, the Reserva Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2017 was awarded 92 points and a Gold Medal.

Los Bocheros Restó, facing the vineyards, presents an emotional cuisine that highlights Mendoza’s traditional flavors through wood fire, clay ovens, and grills.
