Old general stores in La Pampa

Come to one century old general stores which used to be the center of business and social life in the Pampean villages.

There was a time when life in the villages went by at stores that were business and social centers. After over one century, some of them still preserve their original architecture. They are the old general stores of the province of La Pampa. Visit them and watch their brick walls, wooden counters, ceiling-long shelves, rooms filled with anecdotes and objects full of history.

In Ataliva Roca, visit the Almacén del Gallego: discover its classic double doors and its wide windows. In General Acha, you’ll find La Moderna, turned into a warehouse for farming objects. In Arata, you’ll be surprised by Almacén La Florida, turned into a cultural center and historical museum. In Intendente Alvear, do not miss the Almacén de Pepa, which features an early 20th century Italian style. And in Victorica, Casa Falabella, built in 1925 will be waiting for you. How to get there: by land, via Ruta Nacional 5, by car or bus via various connections from several points in the country. By air, to Santa Rosa Airport.
