Laguna de Mar Chiquita

Laguna de Mar Chiquita is waiting for you in Miramar de Ansenuza. This salty, immense land, key to conservation, is the habitat of more than two-hundred and fifty bird species. Come to the place where pink flamingos show you the magic of their colors. Walk on natural paths. Watch seagulls and ducks, plovers and shorebirds, swallows and birds of prey. Follow the tracks of cougars, wildcats and capybaras. Enjoy guided tours, photo safaris and night rides. Do you like to slide through the water? Take a motorboat or an inflatable boat ride, practice windsurfing, kayaking, and water-skiing. This lagoon is so huge that it has been nicknamed “the Córdoba sea”. Discover it.

 

Geographic location: Miramar de Ansenuza, northeast of the province of Córdoba.

How to get there: From Córdoba City, tour 197 km via Ruta Nacional 19 and via Ruta Provincial 10, 17, and 3. Some stretches may be unpaved (gravel road).

Area: 2,000 sq km  Altitude: 77 meters above sea level.

Climate: sub-tropical and humid.

Recommended length of stay: 2 to 4 days.

What to do: Bird watching, silverside fishing, water sports, guided tours, photo safaris, bicycle tours and night rides.

Tips: Some areas have open access, like Playa Grande, Laguna del Plata, Lomita de los Indios or Miramar. The areas by the water in Laguna del Plata and Segundo river require paying an entrance ticket.
