Geographic location: Province of Salta.

How to get there: From Humahuaca, there are local buses which run regularly during the day, or by car along a mountain zigzagging gravel road. The journey is about 3 hours long. 

Altitude: 2,780 meters above sea level.

Climate: Height- subtropical, with rainy season from December through March.

Recommended length of stay: 2 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: dress in layers, to adapt to harsh temperature changes. It is advisable to wear sunscreen and take a cap. 

What to do: Enjoy the panoramic view from La Cruz and El Cóndor viewpoints. Visit Nuestra Señora del Rosario and San Roque churches. Go on an 8-kilometer trekking journey from Iruya to San Isidro. You can also find the Pucará de Titiconte ruins 5 kilometers to the Northeast.
