Food in Misiones

Do you know why food in Misiones is so rich and varied? Because its identity is made up with influences from the Guaraní, the Brazilian, and the Argentine cuisines, plus the traditional recipes brought to the country by the communities of European and Asian immigrants. Have you tasted the dishes prepared with typical fish such as dorado, pacú, patí, surubí, and manguruyú? Enjoy them cooked on a grill, in the oven, or with a bread crust.

Would you like to discover more regional flavors? Taste the chipás, small buns prepared with mandioca flour, and feijoada, a stew with black beans, pork, and rice. Taste the reviro and the sopa paraguaya [Paraguayan soup], the churrasco al espadín and the small ricotta empanadas. And, for dessert, taste the classical mamón jam. To drink, you cannot miss caña paraguaya, and a kind of eau-de-vie called cachaza. Live it all in the province of Misiones.
