Cuesta del Viento
Visit one of the best spots in the world to practice windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Can you imagine a place with winds stronger than 20 knots for over 300 days a year? Visit the Cuesta del Viento dam: an oasis that invites action. A windsurfing and kitesurfing paradise, where the green water contrasts against the darkness of the rocks. A place with quiet mornings, ideal to go fishing or kayaking; and with active afternoons, with strong winds that let you play among the waves.
If you leave from the San Juan provincial capital, the adventure begins on Route 40 heading north. You’ll reach San José de Jáchal, a town from the 18th century, which preserves the peace of provincial life. From that calm, you leave for the town of Rodeo. You’ll cross a ledge road, accompanying the course of a river, ideal to practice rafting. And from there, you’ll discover the oasis of wind. Get your wings ready.
