How to get there: from the capital city of Salta, via Ruta Nacional 68 (248 kilometers), go south and then west via Ruta Nacional 40.
Altitude: 1,990 meters above sea level. Climate: warm and dry.
Recommended length of stay: 1 to 2 days.
Recommended clothing and gear: take a light jacket in case there are temperature changes.
Tips: Visit Pucará, a village that evokes the chronicles of the historical resistance of the native villagers, especially cacique Juan Calchaquí. Before traveling, check the condition of the roads as they are difficult to travel when it rains.
