Do you enjoy lake rides? Get on a boat in Lake Traful and sail to Bosque Sumergido [Sunken Forest], where you will see over fifty dry cypresses standing out from the bottom of the lake. Explore Cerro Negro and Penitentes. From their viewpoints, admire a water mirror by the Lanín and Villarrica volcanoes. And on a cliff, come to the Gruta de la Virgen [Virgin Cave], where you will come across stalactites and wild flowers. Live it all in the province of Neuquén.

How to get there: Villa Traful is on the famous Route of Seven Lakes. You can get there via Ruta Provincial 65 (100 km from San Carlos de Bariloche and from San Martín de los Andes).

Area: 70 sq km.

Altitude: 975 meters above sea level.

Climate: temperate cold, with snowfall in winter.

Recommended length of stay: 1 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: warm clothes, suitable for very low temperatures in winter.
