Pre Delta National Park

Find a natural haven in the Paraná flooded savanna ecoregion.

In the province of Entre Ríos, land and water have plenty in store for you. Islands and streams, lagoons and brooks are waiting for you at the Pre Delta National Park, next to the Paraná river. Watch its riverside jungle, its natural slopes, and its exuberant greenery. Watch the typical irupé flowers floating on the water. Get close to the trees that bring life to the riverside forests: the Humboldt’s willows and the pacara earpod trees, the cockspur coral trees and the river alders.

Do you like wildlife? Discover the kingfisher hovering above the water, looking for food. Meet southern screamers and ducks, herons and storks, coots and coipos, capibaras and weasels. Watch endangered species such as the neotropical otters, the chameleon cichlids, and the broad-snouted caimans. Look at the water brimming with streaked prochilods and mahi mahi fish, surubís and crappies, among over 180 fish species. Value this haven of life.

How to get there: Access is via the city of Diamante (province of Entre Ríos), 440 km away from Buenos Aires along Ruta Nacional 12 and Ruta Nacional 11.

Area: 24,58 sq km

Climate: Warm and humid. Average temperatures range from 23°C in summer (with highs over 40°C) and 13°C in winter (with some occasional frosts). 

What to do: Wildlife watching, water sports, sailing.

Recommended length of stay: 1 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: Mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
