Geographic location:  Los Glaciares National Park, Province of Santa Cruz, Patagonia.

How to get here: the Perito Moreno Glacier is 80km from El Calafate, via Ruta Provincial 11. It’s about 1 hour 30 minutes by car. 

Area: 7,269 km²

Altitude: 199 meters above sea level. 

Climate: Semi-dry and cold, with scarce rainfall all year round and strong winds November through December. It snows from May to August. 

Ideal time of the year: though the best time of the year is spring/summer (September through March), visitors can come all year round. The landscapes vary according to the season.

Recommended length of stay: 3 to 5 days.

Recommended clothing: hooded windbreaker, gloves, scarf and a jacket, trainers or trekking footwear, sunglasses and UV 40 sunscreen. 

What to do: a wide range of activities and tours. Sailing, trekking, kayaking, snow-shoeing, 4x4 rides.
