Estricta San Antonio Nature Reserve
In the Alto Paraná Atlantic Forest ecoregion, there is a reserve which gives life to large monkey puzzle trees and Paraná pine woods.
Did you know that a natural area of Misiones protects a part of the Paraná jungle? The Estricta San Antonio Nature Reserve is a world where the Paraná pine woods reign, monkey puzzle tree’s umbrella-shape treetops stand out, and the yerba mate tree is distinguished by its cultural value. Also, in the stream shores, beside plants like bromeliads and orchids, chachí manso and other giant ferns sprout.
How much do you know about the fauna of this reserve? Here, birds like the blue magpie and brown dancer, pine collude and wine-breasted parrot, which is in danger of extinction, live amid pine trees and creeks. There are also snakes like the yararacuzú and the true coral, and mammals like the lowland paca, the small red brocket, the black capuchin and the margay. A diverse fauna in a reserve full of life.
