Geographic location: Province of Salta, north of Argentina.

How to get there: by plane, to General Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport. By land, the city of Salta has excellent connectivity by bus from all over the country. By car, you can get there via Ruta Nacional 34 and Ruta Nacional 9 (it is 1,500 kilometers from Buenos Aires).

Altitude: 1,152 meters above sea level.

Climate: Subtropical dry, with dry season.

Recommended length of stay: 2 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: warm clothes appropriate for big temperature changes. In winter, bring warm clothes as the temperatures are very low. 

What to do: Culture tourism, adventure tourism, enjoy food and music in the famous folklore peñas.
