Catch-and-release fishing in Entre Ríos

Enjoy sport fishing of mahi mahi, surubí and other typical fish of the Litoral region.

There where a river runs, a lake is formed or a creek lies, the province of Entre Ríos invites you to enjoy catch-and-release fishing. Do you know what this sport is about? It consists in releasing caught fish back to the water, especially small fish, to contribute to their growth and reproduction, so they can keep filling us with life. What fishing technique would you like to experiment, spinning or trolling? Baitcast or fly-fishing?

Do you enjoy mahi mahi fishing? Practice it in Victoria and Concordia, La Paz and Santa Elena, Piedras Blancas and Hernandarias. You’ll be surprised by very large specimens of this fish called the “tiger of rivers”. Do you prefer surubí fishing? Find it in the city of Paraná and in the Paraná Guazú River, close to the Complejo Zárate-Brazo Largo. Also, enjoy it at Puerto Yeruá, where very large specimens are waiting for you. Geographic location: Province of Entre Ríos, Argentine Litoral region.

How to get there: by land, via Ruta Nacional 11, by car or bus, via several connections from different points of the country. By plane, to General Justo José de Urquiza Airport.

Climate: warm. Temperatures get higher as you go to the north of the province. 

Recommended length of stay: 2 to 5 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: fishing gear. Mahi mahi sport fishing in particular requires a spinning reel, fake bait and a strong rod.  

Tips: check the time of the year when mahi mahi fishing is not permitted, which is usually September through January.
