San Guillermo National Park
San Guillermo National Park belongs to the Puna and Central Andean eco-regions, featuring hills and woodlands.
Its vegetation is mainly isolated plateau bushes, food for big animals like guanacos and vicuñas.
Together with the neighbor San Guillermo’s Provincial Reservation, this park forms the San Guillermo’s Biosphere Reservation, which is controlled and managed by the Man and Biosphere Project (MAB) of the United Nations.
With the creation of the San Guillermo's Provincial Reservation, vicuñas have been recovering pretty notoriously: Almost 7.000 vicuñas were censed together with 5.000 guanacos. This park is the right place for admiring these two Argentine par excellence specimens.
