El Leoncito National Park

This park is located on the western side of the Tontal Hills (Pre-Andean range), at Calingasta Department, 30 kms from Barreal.

With a surface of 89.706 hectares, this park preserves a representative sample of the biomas of Monte Sierras, Bolsones, Puna andAlto Andino. It features archaeological fields of important value and historical relevance.

It also guarantees a clean and transparent atmosphere, necessary for astronomic observations at the two Observatories of the area.
