Chaco National Park
It is located at 130 km. from Resistencia, capital of the province of Chaco, between the departments of Sargento Cabral and Presidencia de la Plaza.
It has a surface of 15.000 hectares and it was created in 1.954 to preserve a sample of the Eastern Chaco. Among the distinctive flora of the region we can mention: the red quebracho, algarrobo, guayabí, guayacán, espina corona and chaguares.
Its most remarkable animal species are: the carayá or howling monkey, yacares, guazunchos, Paraguayan magpies, ipacaá and white chest woodpeckers; all of them protected by savannas, lagoons and swamps.
