Meetings in the Northern Region

The province of Catamarca features a variety of contrasting landscapes: the peaks of the mountain range, the puna (high Andean plateau), high-altitude lakes populated by flamingos, the cloud forest in the east, rivers, ravines and high-altitude valleys. Its capital, San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, is the youngest Spanish city in northwestern Argentina (1683). Nestled in a wide valley between stunning mountain ranges, its architecture combines a colonial flare with the influence of the 19^thCentury Italian neoclassical period.
