Pilar

Pilar is located only 58 km (36 mi) away from the City of Buenos Aires, so visitors can get here in only 40 minutes via the Panamericana highway. Pilar has become one of the major Industrial Parks in South America, thanks to significant infrastructure investments made during the ‘90s, including important restaurants, real estate projects, shopping centers, movie theaters, and hotels.

It is an attractive destination for both tourism and leisure, with polo and golf courses, ranches, and the option of doing historical, education and religion oriented tourism activities.

Today, the municipality of Pilar has a total of 561 hotel rooms, more than 30 meeting rooms (from traditional options to ranches), more than 60 restaurants, and over 10 shopping centers. It is the ideal destination for business meetings, since it offers the possibility of working in a relaxed environment, surrounded by nature.

SIGHTS
The Pilar Industrial Park is one of the largest in South America and it includes 200 national and international companies. These companies, together with the growth of the accommodation offer in the area, help corporate tourism thrive.

Pilar is the Capital of Polo due to the large number of clubs in the area and also because the main tournaments in the country are held there. They have the best courses, the best polo players, and even the headquarters of the Argentine Polo Association at the Pando-Carabassa Castle.

Estancias del Pilar, only 6 km (4 mi) away from Pilar, is a magnificent 450 hectare (1,112 acre) gated neighborhood surrounded by fields and inhabited by 2,000 families. It was designed to include spaces for enjoying cultural activities, as well as small shops, all surrounded by a spectacular landscape where people can horse ride, practice water sports in lagoons, play golf, and go horseback riding.

The Centro Comercial Km 50 is a shopping centers with restaurants, bars, movie theaters, a bingo hall, and other entertainment options for children and adults. The ‘Las Palmas del Pilar’ complex is worth mentioning. It is formed by a shopping center with more than a hundred stores, hypermarkets, an ice-skating rink, 2,500 parking spaces, and a food court, among other services.

EVENT VENUES
Given its proximity to the City of Buenos Aires and its relaxing environment, Pilar has become one of the destinations of choice for holding business events. This area has first class facilities in hotels, universities, and meeting rooms.

Besides international hotel chains such as Sheraton and Howard Johnson, Pilar has a wide range of country estates and facilities surrounded by nature that are perfectly suitable for events, such as Pilar Golf (with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and golf courses) or Espacio Pilar.

Also, in Campana (near Pilar) we can find the Sofitel La Reserva Cardales Hotel, a luxury hotel that comprises a main building and 7 guest room blocks surrounding a lagoon as well as a golf course. The main building features two meeting rooms: Bernardo Houssay and Luis Leloir, which are fully equipped for both social and corporate events, and each has two support rooms. Recently inaugurated, Le Dome Convention Center, placed in the Sofitel La Reserva Cardales complex, is an independent building of 1,380 m²(14,854.20 ft²), and it accommodates 1,100 people in auditorium and 700 in banquet setting.
