Train to the clouds

Considered one of the highest trains in the world, as its name indicates, its reaches an altitude of 4.200 m and passengers can literally touch the clouds with their hands.

Its official name is Ferrocarril Belgrano, it was created in 1.948 and the roundtrip covers 434 km. It crosses 29 bridges, 21 tunnels, 13 viaducts and 2 full of adrenaline zigzags.

Its maximum peak is reached at the final stage of La Polvorilla Viaduct (bridge that is 70 m over a river bank), a little after the stop at the charming town of San Antonio de los Cobres, where time seems to have stopped.

Taking into account that this tour requires a complete day. it leaves from Salta City at first time in the morning, it features on board services like heating, restaurant, folk shows, medical assistance, audio, video and bilingual guides.

Its maximum capacity is 468 passengers. As it is a great attraction for tourists from every parts of the world, it is recommended to book in advance.
