Fishing in Cuyo and Córdoba
In these regions, river Diamante, Atuel, Tunuyán, Mendoza and San Juan have changing flows, due to their rare vegetation. These zones attract fly fishermen, fond of light equipments, provided there are countless streams, totalizing 4.000 km. of water courses, with an extremely beautiful landscape and featuring different salmon varieties that satisfy even the most demanding fisherman.
Many of these rivers have been “reservoired” for obtaining electric energy and, many sport fish species have been introduced to such reservoirs.
Mar Chiquita lagoon is remarkable in this region, with the largest quantity of inner waters, in an extension of about 2.000 km2 and - in occasions - reaching up to 5.000 km2.
A great part of these waters have salmon species, not as big as in the Patagonia but very colorful and combative. There are also rainbow trouts, brown trouts and stream trouts. The reservoirs feature kingfish - both Patagonia and Buenos Aires species - also common carps, tarariras and percas.
